About Bluebird Nordic

Bluebird Nordic was established in 1999 by a group of local businesses and individuals with a solid background in aviation and airfreight. From the beginning Bluebird Nordic has provided service to major airlines, express companies and parcel services. The airline also offer cargo export and Import services in Iceland, with more than 100 locations worldwide.

The Bluebird Nordic team prides itself in running an efficient airline, focusing on fast, responsive customer service, as well as safe, reliable and competitive transport. All aircraft are equipped and pilots trained to operate under low visibility weather conditions. The airline is licensed and experienced in carrying most type of cargo, fresh fish, perishables, pharmaceuticals, animals, vulnerable, dangerous goods and etc.

In 2017 the airline introduced new logo and livery. This was simply a change of brand and the company is still operating under it´s original registration and legal name  in the Company´s Registry in Iceland.

Bluebird Nordic currently operates a fleet of nine freighter aircraft, one Boeing 737-300, seven Boeing 737-400 and one Boeing 737-800. The airline holds EASA AOC issued by the Icelandic CAA. The company is approved by the Icelandic CAA as EASA-145 and Part M Maintenance Organization. Line Maintenance up to and including A4 checks is performed by our maintenance team.

As an Icelandic airline, Bluebird Nordic is authorized to operate without restrictions within the European Union, due to Iceland’s membership in the European Economic Area. In addition Iceland has extensive bilateral agreements with various countries all over the world which gives the company great flexibility to provide services under its own flight numbers if needed.
